So... there's this ting.

Aurora. Do you remember Aurora? Flowy hair, talked to animals, married to that jacked guy in the Peter Pan hat?

She, uh. Well, she's not here anymore. I think... I think she went home.

I didn't talk to her much, but I remember her, yes...

[She pauses, frowning though he can't see it.]

I'm sorry... You two were close weren't you?

Yeah, uh. Yeah, we were. Like having a big sister around, or something. Don't quote me on that though, got the whole only child thing going, so...

So anyway. I was staying at her place, when her husband disappeared. She was pretty upset.

I could understand that.

[To a point. Reyna got pretty upset over people disappearing, after all. Back home and in this place.]

...Look, I don't really know how to say it.

[Which was true enough, considering what she'd been through with Jason, what she'd told him.

And considering he didn't want to lose her.

But Gwen had always told him that honesty was the best policy. He could get away with this, no consequences, and it might even be better for Reyna...

But he felt pretty bad about it. It just got worse, the longer he took.]

Something bizarre happened.

[This suspense was not doing him any favors.]

[He pauses, rubbing at the back of his neck, before sighing through his nose, in a huffing manner and sitting bolt upright, trying to just... get it over with.

I woke up on the couch with some string attached to me. I guess it happened to a lot of people, but-- I couldn't. I couldn't really think straight. The string was attached to her finger too, and when I saw her, I just... we...

[And there he is, faltering again.

He thought the silence might be damning enough.]

[Reyna had seen talk of that red string thing. She didn't give it much thought, mind you, and even took extra precautions to ignore it. It was dumb and a waste of time.

It had taken a lot of people by surprise and few of them were happy about it... She couldn't blame him for anything.

But it was still like a knife to the gut. She should probably say something... Answer him. Tell him she understands, that he wouldn't hurt her on purpose.

That it had to be this place.

But how much of her actually believed that she wouldn't be left again? ~~Not that she and Jason had been together in the first place, but it was close enough.~~ Right. Answering him. Her silence was probably frightening.]

I'm not mad.

[Just a little upset? Wary? She hated that they weren't having this talk in person... Absolutely despised it.]

[And it was his own turn for a lapse into silence, as he gauged whether or not he believed that.

Conclusion? He didn't think he did.]

Look, I... didn't think you'd be, if it was just some mix-up accident, just this place's usual up-to-no good.

But with this, and what you told me about Jason...

[He trailed.]

Hey, I'm not good at this. I'm probably a jerk for not saying something sooner. I just didn't know if you'd wanna hear it; it's not fair, after what you've already gone through.

[She sighed a little, and tried to gather her thoughts.]

I've given up on worrying about things being fair... There's no such thing. You told me-- and I... I'm glad that you did.

[But it scares her, thinking something like this could happen again here.]

[A nod, though she can't see it, and he's a little bit relieved that she doesn't sound actually pissed.]
